I had the pleasure of working with a rather grumpy Sir Sam Neill as he generously gave voice to this Pinot New New Zealand video for their 2025 event launch at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, Ōtautahi Christchurch. It was the culmination of a project that started just before Covid with a country wide shoot interviewing winemakers from all over the motu and filming their vineyards and wine craft. Showcasing New Zealand Pinot Noir to an international market was the driving factor for the organisers of Pinot Noir NZ 2025. New Zealand Winegrowers staged the event, hosting more than 400 growers, experts, writers and media from around the world to shine a spotlight on the NZ wine industry, share innovations and drive brand growth and future sales.
